Genius.

The thing at the end with the phone number was ridiculous.

i am noticing a unrandom selection of people...he goes up and down lines but its quite specific picking people out and there was a fuck up when he said he didnt know anyones name in the group on stage and all their names were in a bowl written on cards..then he said "there is a david at the top" before reading a name on card..then said oh and if there are any other davids...that seemed suspect.

but if they were stooges, one person would surely sell a story

Re: Derren Brown: infamous
I don't think Derren Brown is a fraud at all.

Most of what he does makes perfect sense and he explains most of it pretty well.

If he is I will genuinely be disappointed.

Dursley

Saw him at the hippodrome years ago doing a different show but similar principles

I trick of the mind is an excellent book. It explains some of the things he does but not all

Something about him really rubs me up the wrong way.

And it's not just that he's a poofter.

Re: Derren Brown: infamous
His books are good.

Seen about 5 of his shows over the years. I can only figure out a couple of things he has done in all his shows, the rest is mind blowing.

Seen him live twice. Blokes a clever fucker.

Re: Derren Brown: infamous
Derren is just the face of a large group of very clever illusionists, Andy Nyman and the production team at Objective are pulling all the strings. Derren spent 10 years before he was famous learning his trade, he spends hours practising some of the techniques and has learnt the art of "reading" people way beyond his contemporaries.

I was lucky enough to be one of the participants on one of his shows called Trick or Treat in 2008. I spent two weeks with him filming and had the chance to quiz him about many of the things he has done. He taught me how to memorize a list of objects as well as some other tricks I can still use.

You can see the show I was on if you type Trick or Treat plus Quiz into YouTube, I am Glen.

He has people walking round talking to people beforehand. Getting stories etc

Re: Derren Brown: infamous
Saw him in Cambridge a few years back. Thought he was a complete fraud. He was moving through the audience before the show, taking people to one side. Didn't hear what he said.

During the show he made me disappear. I haven't been seen since.

Saw this at Westcliff earlier this year. Went in as the biggest cynic. It was superb. Incredibly clever. Basically trick of mind, but how, who knows.

My good friend ROSE

Her surname might have been Grant
But she was definitely no PLANT

Dynamo is a fraud? Are you telling me he isn't really doing magic?

Good work Sherlock

Feed Me Chicken 11:13 Mon Sep 22
Re: Derren Brown: infamous
Most of his stuff is all about the mind which truly is a fucked up part of all of us. he's just very clever at what he does, unlike dynamo who is basically a fraud, although good entertainment

Re: Derren Brown: infamous
Am recording this. Saw the show in Bristol and I still can't figure out how he does most of it. The bloke's superb.

Sniper 10:59 Mon Sep 22
Re: Derren Brown: infamous
I saw him live and I can't figure it out at all - I so know that a lot if the explanations he does give are also red herrings, but the stuff he does is baffling

penners28 10:58 Mon Sep 22
Re: Derren Brown: infamous
He's just an illusionist.
